π Operation Colony Cats is Now an Official Nonprofit! π
We are thrilled to share that Operation Colony Cats (OCC) is now officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit!
What began as a small grassroots effort to help neighborhood cat colonies has grown into an organized network of fosters, trappers, transporters, and supporters making a real impact for cats and kittens in North Mississippi.
Our mission remains the same:
- Trap community catsβboth feral and stray
- Neuter/Spay to prevent further litters
- Return them to their original location or place adoptable cats and kittens into foster care
Through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), foster and adoption programs, essential medical care, and community education, OCC works every day to reduce overpopulation, ease suffering, and give cats a second chance.

- πΆ 137 canine spays & neuters
- π 304 cats & kittens transported to our northern partner, Sweet Paws Rescue

π Medical Cases This Week
πΎ Patches β Arrived very pregnant with a broken pelvis that would have made giving birth impossible and likely fatal. She was safely spayed, and with six weeks of crate rest, her pelvis should heal.
π Butterscotch β After a severe bout of Megacolon, the most compassionate choice was to let him cross the rainbow bridge peacefully.
πΎ Benjamin β Found huddled behind garbage cans along a busy highway in Reform, AL. Heβs battling a URI and has a dislocated hip requiring FHO surgery.
πΎ Button β Working with shelter medicine veterinarians to determine the cause of her limited use of her back legs, possibly a spinal injury.
π Every number and every story represents lives changed β and none of this would be possible without our incredible fosters, trappers, transporters, donors, and supporters.
π’ If youβd like to help us continue providing care for cats like Patches, Butterscotch, Benjamin, and Button, donations of any size make a real difference.
