Our Final Transport of 2025

Thanks to this community, we’re closing out the year with 37 cats and kittens headed toward their Best Possible Outcome. Early this morning, they began their 24–27 hour trip to the Sweet Paws Facility in Groveland, MA, where they’ll finish their required 48-hour isolation before moving on to loving homes.

This final transport represents the very heart of what your support has made possible this past year – and these are some amazing numbers:

  • Feline spays/neuters: 1,748
  • Canine spays/neuters: 164
  • Cats & kittens transported to Sweet Paws Rescue: 500
  • Cats & kittens transported through OCHS: 29
  • Cats transported to Darbster Kitty via W.P. Humane: 9

Today’s riders include playful tabby brothers, shy-but-brave colony kittens, seasoned mama cats, and quirky little personalities who’ve overcome everything from eye injuries to tough starts outdoors. Some came from local shelters, some from colonies in Nettleton, Columbus, Starkville, and West Point—and all were cared for by dedicated OCC fosters who helped them grow healthy, social, and ready for adoption.

Each one now begins the final leg of their journey north, where families are waiting.

37 lives. 37 journeys. 37 stories of hope.

Thank you to our fosters, transport team, volunteers, donors, and every supporter who makes this work possible. You’ve given hundreds of animals their second chance this year—what a beautiful way to end 2025.
