Expanding Our Reach
In 2025, Operation Colony Cats opened applications to assist areas with little to no access to animal services. Our trap team and foster network stepped up in a big way, committing their time and hearts not only to Lowndes County, but to some of the most underserved communities in our region. We take great pride in knowing our work reduces suffering ethically, humanely, and responsibly.
Our goal has always remained the same:
- Cats are returned to their colonies only when feral or upon request
- Colonies are stabilized, reducing outdoor populations while improving quality of life
Cats in Our Care
- Approximately 73 cats currently in OCC care in Mississippi
This is where our fosters shine.
The Heart of OCC: Our People
Fosters are vital to our program.
They dedicate countless hours ensuring cats and kittens are healthy, socialized, and ready for their Home, Sweet Home. Their patience, consistency, and—above all—compassion are the backbone of what we do. We truly would be lost without them.
We are equally grateful for our northern partners at Sweet Paws Rescue. Through challenges and change over the past few years, their team has continued to make thoughtful, lasting matches for our cats and kittens. We are eternally thankful for their unwavering commitment.
And to those who volunteer their time to drive, trap, assist with exams, and show up week after week—
Operation Colony Cats exists because of you.
Looking Ahead
Together, we are proving that community-based, humane solutions work. Thank you for standing with us, believing in our mission, and helping us create a future with less suffering and more hope—for animals and the people who care about them.
With gratitude,
